Smart Card Time and Attendance

Contactless smart cards are used to operate your time and attendance system. They operate using well-proven and reliable RF technology, which gives a constant read range and is unaffected by most external conditions. It also means that there is no onboard battery, so theoretically, each smart card has an infinite life and can be read an infinite number of times.

When placed within range of your time and attendance clock, the smart card will be read in under ¼ second, even if that card is covered in oil and grease. This ensures quick clocking times and allows for fast throughput of employees, especially useful at peak clocking periods.

Your smart card time and attendance system can also be operated by proximity key fobs, which work in exactly the same way as smart cards and can be used on the same clocks and scanners.

Smart Cards

time and attendance smart cards A variety of smart cards can be used to operate your time and attendance system, including smart cards with a magnetic strip and dual interface cards. Of course you may choose to opt for the standard Tensor smart card, which can operate both your time and attendance, and access control system if you so require.

Having installed numerous time and attendance systems across Scotland, we have found that most of our customers opt for the T1305 smart card. This card is approximately the same size as a standard credit card, and is thin and flexible enough to be carried in your wallet.

All smart cards supplied by Time and Attendance Scotland can be customised to fit in with your corporate identity. Dye sublimation printers are used to print high quality images onto adhesive labels for sticking onto your smart cards. This means that each employee at your organisation can have a personalised smart card complete with photograph and company logo.

Time and Attendance Scotland provide a smart card bureau service, allowing you to outsource your smart card production.

Smart Card Integrity

Each smart card has a microchip embedded within it that holds a unique factory encoded ID number. With up to 34 billion different combinations of ID number, there is no chance that your smart cards can be duplicated. In addition, each ID number has built-in security and integrity checks ensuring that it cannot be misread. A cross-reference list correlating the external printed card number and the programmed ID number is also provided for easy system integration.

The combination of robustness, accuracy and speed have placed our smart card time and attendance systems at the forefront of secure, reliable attendance monitoring systems.
